I got one of our mechanics to drive the GT today to get a little input on how it is right now. Right now the list of things that came up as "broken" were:
1 transmission mount
2 motor mounts
Transmission bearing whine
Leaking rear main seal
Leaking front crank shaft
Leaking rear end
Fuel pump
Coil pack
Front brakes
but in the spirit of drifting, I'm going to waste all my money on the suspension first. Coilovers soon.
By the way, Seafoam is overrated. I've not got anything else to add really, since the drift day was cancelled thanks to rain.

Parts
So, to put a little insight into what I have in the car right now, I'll first say that my parents were not too happy about me sliding a car sideways. So my mods are based on safety first, which is fine.
As of now, the car has:
Sparco Pro 2000 seats
Sparco harnesses
6 point roll cage
Steeda short throw shifter
Weight reduction
FRPP Adjustable E-brake cable
16 inch Bulletts
Which is a fairly small list. Money, eh? But I'll list my parts as I can slowly afford them. For now, the car drifts, which is the most important thing.

Oops...
If you're going to install an aftermarket shifter, make sure the handle is attached to the rest of the unit securely. If not you'll find yourself tearing apart the center console at a traffic light trying to put it back together.
Drift day next Saturday. Much win in the near future.

OMFG Drifting Mustang Blog
Well after watching the guys at http://drift50.com become mild internet legends through blogging, I think, I figured I should enter the foray that is the magical world of internet blogging. Lets face it, no one cares about my life, but they do in fact care about my car. So, lets become cuddle buddies as I tell you about her, and, if I remember to update this, you can see what it will take to combine wild raging American stallion with dorifuto soko utilizing supahhh many horsepowaaaas and a little bit of magical wind power dragon and my parents transmission shop. For some reason unbeknownst to me, I bought a 1997 Mustang GT with 209,000 miles on it that I shipped down from Denver to the cozy enclave of Albuquerque, New Mexico. I proceeded to pimp my ride, purchasing a set of racing seats, racing harnesses, and the wonderful 6 point roll cage.
Our local Sandia Motorsports (http://www.sandiamotorsports.com/) has a section of road course closed off during the RacingSouthwest, also known as RSW, (http://racingsouthwest.com) drift days, the only legal event in the state as of now.
Otherwise, you're pretty much confined to parking lots that run the risk of the police showing up. It's not that I like breaking the law, but I just kinda need practice, and I really don't think leaving some rubber in a parking lot is killing babies. I hope that as I get better to take wonderful roadtrips to Arizona, which has a much larger following of drifters. One can dream, one can dream...

I blow exorbitant amounts of money on this stupidly fun hobby, so it's not like I don't have a reason not to. So until then, enjoy some pictures of me trying to get my Asian on.
